14 Cucumbers
2 Scant Tbsp. Canning Salt
1 Qt. Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 Pkg. Mixed Pickling Spices
8 Cups Sugar
Clean cucumbers and place in a plastic bucket. Pour hot water over them for four days, each day replace with fresh water.
On the fifth day, drain and slice into 1/4 inch slices. Combine vinegar, sugar, spices, and salt; bring to a boil. Pour this syrup over pickles.
Drain off juice for 3 days and reheat each day. Add 1/2 cup sugar each day. On fourth day, drain off juice and bring to a boil.
Place chips in a sterilized jars, fill with juice and seal.
